Royal Wedding Fascinators' Inspiration for your Next High Tea

You watched the Royal Wedding right?

My sister wondered why I had to watch, what was so special about it?

As a Suits fan, the Royal Wedding was somewhat a way of saying goodbye to Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle aka the Duchess of Sussex).

And it's not just about it.

If you ever watched The Princess Diary, this wedding perfectly realitized(sic) it.

However, the most inarguably outstanding thing about this particular Royal Wedding were the fascinators.

Not that popular here but, next time you attend that High Tea, or wedding, here are the most beautiful fascinators from the guest list that you can draw inspiration from.

A Peek into the World of Top East African #LipArt-ist

-Lips without Lipstick are like cake without frosting-

For the talent behind Perky Arts, lip art goes far beyond applying your favourite red lipstick.

It’s an art that she, Joy Maringa, has had and continues to perfect from when she was a little girl.  Back then, her make up kit came in free courtesy of UK Teen magazines that included free make up kits on the inside.

Years later, she would ditch her dream of desiring to make it as a high-ranking brand manager and embrace make-up artistry full-time.

You internationalize your search and well, whatever those actresses and musicians wear is either locally unacceptable or too damn expensive.  So what do you do?

Cancel?

Probably...

Why an ALL-WHITE Wedding is More of a Mistake than an Elite Affair

It’s one of those trends that’s picking up pretty fast yet, one that ought to be smashed before it screws up the uniqueness and exquisiteness associated with and given to weddings and the bride: AN ALL WHITE THEMED WEDDING.
Though we can all agree that an all white themed wedding presents a modern feel, looks luxurious and presents an elite kind of feel, it has loads and loads of downsides.

One fabric, Different designs, 30 days - 30 Ways to Rock That Kitenge

The idea of wearing a kitenge dress, skirt, trouser or jacket is perceived by many as that one act you put into practice on special occasions, like when attending weddings or funerals. So when I saw this lady talk about how she was going to do a '30 days of Kitenge', I sat, watched and waited…curiously waiting to see how far she would take it.
Turned out that hers was yet another successful mission. Take a look at these ten outfits I've sampled from her 30 day collection:

HOMELESS CHIC - The Worst Fashion Trend Ever

Homeless chic, that's how they are calling it. It's a new fashion trend that seems to have taken over the world and most especially the world of celebrities. We are talking the likes of Kanye West (who has a whole fashion line dedicated to making 'fashionable' clothes for wanna-be homeless people), Steven Taylor and even our very own Sauti Sol.

FOREVER YOUNG - 9 TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE YOURSELF LOOK YOUNGER

If humans had the means, they would devise a technology that would alter their growth at a certain age…you know like the IN TIME movie.
As we impatiently wait for someone to make this innovation, the best we can do is rely on either cosmetic surgery (which is far too expensive and leaves people looking more ridiculous than young) or, embrace my tips:

How to Look Awesome at the Beach - BEACHWEAR COVER-UPS

As crude as it may sound, Africans aren't good in a lot of things. But, the one thing that we can pride in is having good bodies. This being the case, it really pains me to see someone spend a small fortune and take a trip down the coastal part of Kenya to vacation, only to end up spending all their time within the hotels and pretending to be having fun at the beach while still wearing their denim jeans, t-shirt and wedges - This is not only an insult to the beach but also to the thousands of beachwear designers out there.
Since not everyone is blessed with a bikini body (most of us have fractions of our bodies that are better kept secret), here are cool cover-ups that will make you look gorgeous, confident and comfortable at the beach.

Obsessed with Body Shapers - Check out the Risks

Super tiny waist, big boobs, huge hips and gigantic ass - isn't that every female narcissist's newest obsession?
Kim Kardashian
I know, every girl would kill to have an hourglass figure. And, by kill I mean go to the extent of torturing their bodies and compromising their health. Call it body shaping, body toning or body contouring; it's all the same and one thing. But, did you know that coveting that hour-glass silhouette, and wearing body shapers; such as corsets and waist training belts can harm your body?

BLACK - The Easiest Color to Wear to Work

What do I love about color black?
It's the one color that doesn't discriminate against race, body features, one's sense of style or the workplace dress-code.  And, as far as we know, it's a slimming color; who among us isn't open to looking a little bit slimmer?

Men's Fashion - Style Inspiration from #WhiteCollar's Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer)

Fitting suits, slim ties, classic fedoras, vintage tie clips, square pockets, cuff-links…that best describes the wardrobe of who I believe is TV best dressed actor, Matt Bomer.

I first fell in love with his dressing when I watched the first episode of White Collar.  Then I thought, that look must have been out of luck.  But then, with every episode, Neal Caffrey's wardrobe just kept on getting better and better.

Battle of the Uniforms - 15 Airlines with the Best Dressed Cabin Crew

There used to be a time when almost every Kamau, Wanjiku and Otieno wore uniforms to work, school or church.   Talk of doctors, nurses, law enforcement agencies, students, choir members, drivers and touts, and many others.  As of today, only a few have been left to continue with this trend.

And, the fewer they are, the sexier the appeal.  No wonder many women like 'men in uniform' while men can't get enough of a 'uniformed lady.'  It's no debate that some of the most good-looking uniformed professionals are cabin crew members.

Here's a list of the top 15 best dressed cabin crew in the world:

ONE ON ONE WITH EVANS MAINA NGURE - A Junk/Trash Artist whose work you can't help but Fall in Love With

-Artists are agents of change -

There once was Michelangelo, Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci …and then, there came EVANS NGURE; the African king of junk/trash art.  I recently met with this 25 year old after I was captivated by his daring jewelry, some of which is made from power plugs, buttons and zips.  His work which includes drawings, paintings, collages and mosaics has been exhibited at the Paa Ya Paa, Village Market and the National Museum of Kenya.
First things first, why trash art?

Trash art is a way of ensuring that the environment is clean for all.  I believe that the more people recycle, the better the environment.
